(Sometimes I just yearn for my natural habitat, too.)
What up internet!
I made this portrait for Hennessy Youngman aka the Pharaoh Hennessy, aka the Pedagogic Pimp, aka Mister akas’ curatorial debut Itsa small, small world at Family Business. Alas, the 125 sq ft. space (“A PRETTY CLOSET”) reached capacity after the first drop-off window on Friday. According to Youngman’s twitter @therealhennessy “THERES NO ROOM IN THAT BITCH”.

Bromeliaceae or bromeliad -
native to the tropical Americas
most well known is the pineapple
only flower once, producing a “pup”
ability to grow in the ground, on rocks, or on telephone poles
The Oyster Man returns. I was commissioned to paint the Oyster Man, an oyster shucker at a blues cafe in Montgomery, AL. I ended up using a larger canvas and ground altogether and put this wooden canvas aside. I picked it back up again the other day and finished it off with some flying bivalves.

I said I wasn’t going to go. I said I wouldn’t pay to see overpriced, over-hyped contemporary art.
I went. I paid nothing. I loved it.

Teresa’s Wedding Band Necklace
Tragically, Teresa lost her husband to cancer a few years ago. They were high school sweethearts. After his death, she continued to wear her wedding rings, but tired of the explanations when strangers and acquaintances inquired about her marital status. She felt as though it was time to make a change. After an initial meeting, design consultation, and bench work, we have a custom gold chain and jump-rings linking Teresa’s wedding ring to her late husband’s. It was truly an honor to design and facilitate this highly personal process.

See you Friday!
The image captures an installation along the shores of Newport, RI’s famous Cliff Walk. A non-adhesive tape is the sole material. The piece experienced no damage from the elements and unforgiving tides and as a result all materials recovered during de-installation.
